If you are born in 90’s you have definitely played the game called project IGI. Those who didn’t it is a tactical first person shooting game developed by innerloop studios and released on 2000. The franchise got stopped after the 2nd game due to some inconsistencies. But after nearly 14 years, the fans got some hope with a teaser of new game called IGI origins which developing by Antimatter Games. It was quite some time the teaser video is released and releasing date yet to be announced. According to Antimatter official website, they have made to shift the game engine to unreal 5 and they expecting to do major changes in the game to maintain original IGI games legacy.

So in here we are going to discuss about what will be an expectations of fans about this new game. Mainly lots of people need to refresh their childhood memories with this game because as we said before IGI was the legendary game which fulfilled the fantasies of 90’s kids. So all of them expecting to turned their childhood adventures into a future masterpiece. So it’s crucial for this sequel nails the original atmosphere and does not neglect the narrative angle as the promising trailer. The ladder climbing shots are very catchy shows in the trailer. Antimatter developers careful enough to add the weapons in the original game for this as well. It seems that the developers have kept the David Jones solo feel which is very important and key element of this series and it will be a proper justice to the series. Also fans needed to continue this as a franchise with multiplayer capability. To be honest it’s better to deviate the multiplayer mode form usual battle ground mechanism leads this era. By doing that it’s possible to make huge and unique community who actually loved with the IGI games legacy. Nowadays it’s really lack of the games which developed based on critical tactics & brutal stealth.

Game AI needs to optimize heavily. Back in previous games, once you got the hang of it cheesing the AI was fun. Most levels can find a doorway, create some noise or set off alarm and the AI would just make a beeline for you and you could farm as much weapons and ammo as you needed. we also all did the long range sniping with the glock pistol, since the game didnt have bullet drop or weapon damage falloff, you would just zoom with the crosshair of your binoculars onto a tower sentry switch to your pistol and since switching to different items didn’t affect your point of aim you had an instant one shot headshot. One of the things where IGI stood out from similar games back then is its attention to how the different weapons sound. This day it’s hard to hear real sound simulation of shooting. Provide some DLC content will help for continuation this games as a franchise, and if developers can concern about give the ability to make custom missions it will be awesome.

As looking for the trailer it’s amazing how they implemented the “visibility” mechanics into the in-game gameplay itself and not through a HUD. As we understand that watch on the player’s hand shows the visibility of the player character and according to that we position ourselves, or destroy light sources to keep ourselves hidden. Combining that with proper sound detection, it’ll elevate those stealth missions and even make it tenser. It’s expectation to see more of such enhancements over the original game formula.

Finally the expectations are quite clear, fans need brutal stealth, great mission scenario in night with tactics, silenced weapons and knife that give old memories of the game with next level graphics. Up to now it’s no doubt the developers have taken lots of hard work for this game and dedication to this incredible game. Take your time and deliver us the best experience.
